Ancaster Public Library & Beanermunky Chocolate

November 13, 2013 @ 7 pm - Ancaster

Going back to do readings from my book in the town in which I attended public and high school is going to be quite the trip for me. Back then, however, I was known as Lucy Kulchyckyj, was a skinny little runt and I wore Coke-bottomed glasses that took over my face.

But I am hoping some of my old school mates might turn up, especially since the generous folks at Beanermunky are once again sponsoring the event. So it promises to be yet another informative and delicious evening at which a good time is sure to be had by all at the APL.

THEFT BY CHOCOLATE LAUNCHES ABROAD!

Last year, I had hoped to participate in the UK's internationally renowned Chocolate Week festivities. It was not meant to be. But this year, I will be participating in not one, but TWO, events.

The first event will be at Choccywoccydoodah's London Shop in their exclusive "Secret Room." I reference their exquisite chocolate in Theft By Chocolate a few times, so what more befitting spot for my international debut! Check out the listing.

While in London, I will also be attending London's first Salon du Chocolat. It's tough work, but someone has to do it. Much research will be done!

And from there, it's off to Edinburgh to Coco Chocolate. Here, the Bruntsfield Place shop will be hosting an intimate event in a wonderfully cozy setting. Check out the listing.

And I couldn't leave the city without going on one of their Chocolate Tours. Paradise here I come.

If you or friends would like to participate, you can purchase tickets for either event at the following link. It will most definitely be worth the trip across the pond.

Red Hill Library & Monks Chocolates
October 2, 2013 @ 2 pm - Stoney Creek

Stoney Creek conjures up images of its famous dairy (sadly demolished recently) where I first developed my love of chocolate sundaes. It is an honor to do a reading in a community that is home to some dear friends. And Monks Chocolates of Grimsby will be providing samples of their scrumptious wares at the Hamilton Public Library's Red Hill Branch for the reading.

Word on the Street
September 22, 2013 11:00 am to 6:00 pm - Toronto

I had so much fun last year that I decided to return to Canada's largest book and magazine festival. This year, I will have my own booth and, though I will have a roof over my head, please join me in praying to the weather gods for a gorgeous fall day. More details about the time my booth will be open and its location will follow. It's such a fun festival (lots of street food to boot), so especially if you have never been to the fest, you should come down to the city's core.

And the winner is...I held a raffle for those who purchased a copy of my book at the festival and the prize was a Kobo Mini eReader. The lucky winner was Vanessa Selics of Mississauga.

Hudson's Bay Queen Street
September 3, 2013 @ noon - Toronto

Head over to the Hudson's Bay Company at 176 Yonge Street, 5th Floor, Women's Petites Department and join me for a reading followed by a a fashion show. And, I have to eat my words, as I will now be modelling some of The Bay's fashions. Nightmarish scenes from America's Next Top Model episodes continue to run through my head.

Heavenly Sweets Presents:
Mystery, Mayans & Martinis

June 13, 2013 5:00 to 7:00 pm - Collingwood

I've spent a lot of time in the all-seasons resort town of Collingwood, so doing a reading at the most celestial spot in town, Heavenly Sweets, is a sweet dream come true.

Heavenly Sweets delights are out of this world. Their  cinnamon buns are the BEST I have ever had (ever), and their cakes and indescribably delicious cookies found me squealing with delight.

For $10, attendees can sip on a chocolatini or glass of wine and enjoy a Heavenly Sweet while listening to readings from Theft By Chocolate. The shop's wares will be available for purchase.

Advance tickets are required and are available at Heavenly Sweets (48 Pine Street, Collingwood).  With sufficient demand, a second event will be added, same evening beginning at 7 pm.
